Our history in manufacturing
Incorporated in 1966, Capitol Foam Products began in Jersey City, New Jersey, under the guidance of Arthur Krupp.
In 1970, Arthur’s son, Bart, joined the family business, and is now the President and CEO of the Company. Capitol Foam provides custom design, engineering and fabrication of flexible polyurethane foam.Capitol Foam moved to larger quarters in Piscataway in 1973, and then again to South Hackensack a few years later. In the fall of 1987, due to increased production demands, Capitol Foam moved to its present location – a 95,000 square foot facility in East Rutherford, New Jersey, to become the largest foam fabricator on the east coast.
Capitol Foam supplies the growing demands of a varied manufacturing base that includes bedding, cushioning, sporting goods,
medical packaging and various other industries.
Capitol Foam presently employs about sixty skilled employees who cost-effectively design, cut and fabricate using state-of-the-art equipment in the production of flexible polyurethane foam. Our current product line includes more than 100,000 items that are
produced expertly for customers up and down the east coast as well as nationwide.
We fabricate foam solutions with state-of-the-art machinery manufactured by Fecken Kirfel (F & K) and Baumer, which includes;
Contour cutters (horizontal/vertical), carousels, convoluters, slitters and a Calypso water-jet to produce foam for mattresses,
gymnastic mats, toilet seats, home decor and so much more. Capitol Foam is dedicated to lean manufacturing practices stocking material ready for production. We stock both combustion modified and commodity foam manufactured in the United States.
We deliver to our customers using our own fleet of drivers as well as outside carriers. At Capitol Foam we take pride in providing
